The nonprofit youth mentoring organization Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Gulf Coast is collaborating with a group of UHCL students operating under the name “Bridge Builders” to host a promotional fundraising event on April 28, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the SSCB.
Held on National Pay It Forward Day, the event will encourage students to participate in this special day of supporting others by supporting the ability of local youth to be connected to mentors during the most critical years of their development.
As a fundraising event, this support will primarily take the form of monetary donations to BBBS, as well as general education over what BBBS offers to youth in the Gulf Coast area.
Elisabeth Zook, the leader of the “Bridge Builders”, asked for strong student participation next week.
“We are so proud to be hosting a tabling event for Big Brothers Big Sisters Gulf Coast,” said Zook. “The impact they make on children and the Galveston County community is truly remarkable.”
The BBBS table will also have water bottles, stickers, and flyers providing information about the nonprofit, in addition to snacks.
