A new semester for The Signal

Welcome back to school, Hawks!

As we begin another semester, The Signal is coming back with a few changes. We have a new office, new staff members, and plenty of new opportunities for students to get involved.

Leading The Signal this semester are Julianna Brooks, Editor-in-Chief; Alli Cruz, Managing Editor; Reagan Canales, Social Media Specialist; and Marco Peña, Multimedia Specialist.

With a new team comes new ideas and new plans for where we want to take the publication.

We’ve also moved into our new office at SSCB 3.204. This will be the place for our staff and contributors to meet, work, and develop new ideas throughout the semester. We have weekly meetings that take place every Friday from 12 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.

But our biggest goal this semester is to bring in more contributors.

So, what are we looking for?

The simple answer is: almost anything.

We’re looking for people interested in writing and copy editing, but we’re also looking for photographers, graphic designers, social media creators, marketers, videographers, audio producers and podcasters.

The best part about it, any major is welcome to join us!

The Signal is open to students from all majors and backgrounds. Whether you already have experience or simply want to try something new, there’s a place for you here.

Our goal is to continue growing The Signal into a student media organization that allows students to create, learn, and have their work seen.

Whether you’re writing a story, taking photos, making a podcast or trying something completely new, there’s a place for you here. The Signal is your campus outlet, and it’s here for you.

So, if you’re interested, stop by SSCB 3.204. We’d love to see you contribute!
