The Everyday Finance Club helps fellow students with financial literacy

The Everyday Finance Club is a student organization founded with the purpose of helping fellow UHCL students be financially educated both now and in their future lives by offering a variety of resources on money management and financial literacy.

Paying for college and the expenses that go along with it is something all students must consider at one point. When it comes to finances, not all students are prepared.

“You will be surprised how many people don’t understand even just the basics.” says Alexander Villarraga, The Everyday Finance Club president.

A survey published this year by WalletHub titled College Student Financial Survey, states that 7 out of 10 students feel overwhelmed by their financial responsibilities. This is where The Everyday Finance Club steps in.

“Our main goal is to teach people financial literacy and understanding the overall challenges in adult life when it comes to money.” says Villarraga.

The Everyday Finance Club does this by offering resources that include documents, PowerPoints, and hosting events related to financial literacy. “We try to provide as much as we can, just so we can make y’all feel better at the end of the day.” says Villarraga.
