Eating out?

While there are many easy snack options available at the Patio Café, it’s no secret that more options are needed. There are many fantastic restaurants surrounding UHCL that offer good meals you can grab before or after class.

Our first recommendation is Abe’s Cajun Market & Café located only five miles away from UHCL on Clear Lake City Boulevard. Abe’s Café has served the surrounding community for twenty-four years and has a fantastic selection of homemade Cajun recipes on the menu. However, they serve more than just Cajun cuisine with a selection of seafood as well as classic American food. The most popular dish on the menu is known as Catfish A’ La Abe’s, a filet of catfish topped with crawfish etouffee. That is just one example of the food they have to offer; there are also soups like gumbo to get you through the colder days of February.

If Cajun isn’t your style, then Wrap & Roll might be for you. This new hot spot is located just a mile outside of the campus on Bay Area Boulevard. They’ve only been around for two years, but they’re already making their mark with a rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars on Uber Eats and Door Dash, Google reviews rate the restaurant as 4.7 out of 5 stars. Wrap & Roll serves a unique mix of Asian and Mexican fusion food, and their most popular dish is their Spicy Korean Chicken. Wrap & Roll also offers vegetarian options. There is as a 10% discount for students who stop by and show their student ID.
