Neumann Library to host first “Research Party” of semester

The UHCL Alfred R. Neumann Library will be hosting a ‘Research Party” event for students, undergraduate and graduate alike, to meet their librarians and learn how to best utilize all the different research tools and services the library has to offer this Wednesday, Feb. 18, from noon to 2 p.m in the Library Classroom.

Inspired by a similar event put on by Penn State University, the Research Party will aim to serve students by providing a sense of community on campus in addition to answering any questions they may have about the library. One librarian described the event as “here to create a low stakes environment where students both current and prospective can collaborate and learn how best to navigate library research.”

There will also be snacks and beverages provided to all attendees, as well as free library swag to commemorate the experience.

For those unable to make it to this first event, additional Research Parties will be held March 24 and April 23 also in the Library Classroom.
