A Texan Spark?

The Houston Texans shutout the Titans, but can the Texans bounce back on track?

The Houston Texans recently won their first game of the season against the Tennessee Titans with a final score of 26-0. This put the team at a 1-3 win-loss split.

The Texans began the game slowly, and by halftime the score was only 6-0, thanks to Ka’imi Fairbairn kicking two field goals. Post-halftime, however, something sparked the Texans in the locker room, and they played lights-out in the second half.

Both the Texans offense and defense exploded, with CJ Stroud making some smart throws with the help of wide receiver Nico Collins, who ran for 79 yards, and rookie running back Woody Marks, who ran for 69 yards and scored 2 touchdowns.

“The defense played clean today,” said Texans head coach, DeMeco Ryans, after Sunday’s performance.

Despite the win on Sunday, the team still has 3 losses so far this season. Although most of the losses were either by 10 points or fewer, work still needs to be done. The offense has been having trouble moving the ball forward and blocking for CJ Stroud, and the defense has kept allowing teams to run through, and pass over, them.

These next couple of weeks will be tough for the Texans as they try to keep up the positive momentum to compete with opponents that will only get tougher from here on. Things are looking good, though.

Coming off the back of their 44-10 win against the Ravens this last week, bringing their win-loss split to 2-3, the Texans will travel to Seattle for week 6 and back home for their game against the 49ers for week 7.
